| I picked up Ron Baggerman's "Galaxy Gypsy" CD the other day. I have a few thoughts I'd like to add to the ones Emmett already contributed in Sticknews. The two things I noticed most about this CD are Ron's strong right hand work. He has a lyrical flow and confidence that is rare, even among the most practiced players, and there are lots of interesting harmonic directions there as well, not your overly modal solos. Another thing I noticed was his sound. Maybe it was his use of the Patch of Shades, but there were many times when I really heard the musical influence of Emmett, which is something I don't usually hear in other players. If yould like to add a new disc to your collection I'd certainly recommend "Galaxy Gypsy." l'm looking forward to hearing Ron perform at the Holland Seminar in June. Happy
